Science Week Activities 2025
Science Week in our school was packed with fun, curiosity, and hands-on learning. Pupils across all classes took part in a range of exciting experiments that helped bring scientific ideas to life in a practical and memorable way.
One popular activity was the Expanding Gummy Bears experiment, where students investigated osmosis by placing gummy bears in different liquids and observing how they changed size over time. The results led to great predictions, careful measuring, and lots of surprised reactions.
The Dancing Raisins experiment was another highlight. Pupils placed raisins in fizzy drinks and watched them rise and fall as bubbles formed and released. This simple but fascinating activity helped explain how gases can create movement.
Students also took part in a Marshmallow and Spaghetti Tower Challenge, working in teams to design and build the tallest and most stable structures possible. This task encouraged teamwork, planning, testing, and problem-solving, with plenty of creative designs on display.
To finish, classes enjoyed making colourful fizzing potions using baking soda, vinegar, and food colouring. The bubbling reactions created great excitement while demonstrating chemical reactions in action.
Overall, Science Week was a fantastic success, filled with exploration, creativity, and discovery. Well done to all our young scientists for their enthusiasm and excellent work.
