Gardening

21st May 2025

The children have been busy helping Múinteoir Liz prepare our school garden for Spring planting. They worked hard harvesting the vegetables we planted last year, including potatoes, onions, and carrots. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the growing cycle and how food gets from garden to table.

This year, we’re looking forward to an even more exciting planting season. The children are planting potatoes, carrots, beetroot, spring onions, and a wide variety of herbs such as oregano, parsley, and chamomile. Everyone is taking part—from digging and planting to watering and labeling the beds.

Gardening continues to be a hands-on way for our students to learn about nature, responsibility, and healthy eating. We can’t wait to watch our garden grow and enjoy the fruits (and vegetables!) of our labor in the months ahead.
