Both the junior and senior room engage with Music generation. Music Generation is Ireland’s National Music Education programme. Initiated by Music Network, Music Generation is co-founded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and local Music Education Partnership.

2nd – 6th class are currently enjoying a 14 week period with Music Generation. 22 guitars were delivered to our school for the duration of the course. The guitar lessons are a whole-class tuition programme from 2nd-6th. It introduces the children to reading and performing music.

We hope to engage both classes with Music Generation during the coming year.

St Aidan’s NS has strong connections with Fr O’ Flannery School of Music in Cliffoney where many of the children from our school are attending extra classes in the tin whistle with Margaret Rattigan and learn how to play the fiddle with music tutor,  Ann Marie Reilly.

Music tuition is on a Tuesday evening in Margaret Rhatigan’s house opposite the shop in Cliffoney.

For further information please contact Margaret on 071 913 1995.
